Injury update for Everton before Bournemouth
Everton boss Marco Silva has given an injury update on summer signing Jean-Philippe Gbamin ahead of their clash with Bournemouth.
The Toffees signed a plethora of players during the summer transfer window.
Alex Iwobi, Fabian Delph, Moise Kean and Jean-Philippe Gbamin were the most notable names on Everton’s shopping list.
While Iwobi, Delph and Kean are now solidifying their places in the team, Gbamin will have to wait.
Despite starting the season pretty decently, the Frenchman suffered an injury in the clash with Watford.
Everton revealed at the end of August that Gbamin had suffered a tendon injury which could keep him out for at least eight weeks.
Now, ahead of Everton’s clash with Bournemouth this weekend, Marco Silva has provided an update on Gbamin’s return to fitness.
“It’s too early to say when Gbamin will be available”
Speaking in his pre-Bournemouth press conference, Silva explained that the club are trying to get him read ‘as fast we can’ but it’s too early to put a date on his return.
“It’s too early to say when Gbamin will be available,” Silva explained, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
“He’s on his way to recovery and what we’ll do as a club and our medical staff will try to get him ready as fast as we can but the most important thing for me is when he can be ready to train hard again and get his place in the team.”
If Gbamin’s injury keeps him out for around eight weeks, which Everton’s original statement suggested, he could be in line to face West Ham on October 19th.
